Your Humble moderator was literally taking in the view as I was heading towards Independence pass (idiot that I am I forgot my Nikon D90!) and I got stopped for speeding by the Colorado State Patrol in a speed trap. I did everything that I should to fight the speeding ticket but ended up giving the Colorado Department of Revenue $169.50 of my hard earned money.
Being a Cheap Charley I follow speed signs to the best of my ability not becuase I am obsessive law abiding citizen but becuase a cheap charley spends money on what he or she perceives as value and $169 bucks to the Colorado Department of Revenue to be intimidated by men with guns, bad haircuts and cars loaded with disco lights, is not good value for my travel dollars, maybe if he told joke or did a little dance or tell me where to see bears, then maybe I could find some value?
This makes me mad as that is 6.5 days on the road in Asia on my usual budget. I miss one stupid sign and it costs me a week of vacation, So what I need to do is to write about this for that whole week that I could be spending on wreck diving in Bali avg cost $50, that includes Bali diving, hotel Indonesian Visa's and prorated cheap ticket price from LAX to BKK. or 2 days on a Komodo Liveaboard.
So maybe if there is enough bad press the modern day Colorado Highwaymen, illegal gotcha tax assessors, posing as lawmen will give me my cash back, the Bastards! Have a Nice day, Cur!
