Asia Cheap flights Bangkok On United Airlines Not Again!

LAX TO BKK Cheap Flights
I thought that United Airlines was over their problems and then I run into this. Thailand has a old law that I have never heard being enforced in the past ten + years and the law goes like this if you do not have a visa to Thailand then you are only allowed into the country for the time on the visa that you can get on arrival, so if you are from the USA you get 30 days on arrival. If you have a return ticket that is past that time or do not have a return ticket, then you need to have a ticket that is taking you out of the country before it expires, or a transit visa in your passport.

I had a ticket on my computer that showed that I was confirmed on a flight out of Thailand on Cebu Pacific airline 8 days after I arrived in Thailand and that would bring me back to Bangkok 10 days before the return on the United flight BKK to LAX, which is with in the rules for Thai immigration the problem was this I DID NOT HAVE THE TICKET PRINTED!

Picture this I am standing at the United departures desk at LAX and the supervisor is saying with a very sincere have a nice day smile on her face SORRY you can not fly unless you have a PRINTED TICKET, SCREW ME in the Rear Exit Port! My blood pressure went through the roof and I was majorly freaking out as I am going to lose over $1000 bucks on this cheap Asia flight because I am eco friendly and don't print anything anymore, Nothing, Nada, Zilch, Zippo, Nothing baby! What did she think I was going to do I could not get into the terminal as I did not have a ticket I would have had to get a taxi out of LAX and then try to find a copy store that was open in one of the worst areas in LA at 6AM in the morning!

Now I am so agitated that they are going to call security, so now I am going to get arrested and need a criminal lawyer for not having a printed ticket what would the charge be? Terrorist threatening I suppose if they could have read my mind, as I was thinking of all the tortures that the US Government would like to use publicly, with some interesting variations that I would come up with as I strive to be original in everything I do, which I am sure TSA is trying to get funding for brain scans as we speak? Imagine the surprise that somebody is getting pissed off that they are not getting on a flight because they did what the whole paperless ticking thing is suppose to do which is not have paper tickets anymore! DUH nobody at United gets this concept yet?

I have not printed a ticked in over 4 years, yet I can show you on both of my computers and both of my backup external hard drives that I travel with on every Cheap flight that I have booked in the past 6 years. I have so many flights on my computer(s) & external hard drive(s), that I have them separated by years now in the folders labeled FLIGHTS on my desktop(s)

Thailand use to have a big problem with people overstaying their visa they would just go to Thailand and stay for as long as they wanted and then pay the overstay penalty to the Thai Immigration police when they were going to leave. Well nobody does that anymore for two very good reasons, if you over stay in Thailand 1) they can and do throw you in jail until you pay the full overstay amount billed at 500 baht a day. 2) The max on the overstay is 25,000 baht and you cannot return to the Kingdom for a long time if I remember correctly for 5 years.

Right now the Thais have two low level insurrections going on, one in the North with the red shirts and another one that has been bloody for many years now with the Muslims in the south, and on top of that the Thai Baht is at all time highs against the western currencies, Bangkok is the quietest that I have seen it.

So what to do with United Airlines the whole argument was that if they did not follow the rules that they could receive a fine so I guess what I need to do is talk stink about them to the point that they will understand that some rules need to be strictly enforced and that others should have common sense applied.

So you are probably wondering did I get on the flight LAX to Bangkok Yes, one of the United Airlines ticket people had seen this situation before she said send me a email and I will print it for you, and then no problem, well that sure was easy to fix Why doesn't someone tell the supervisor this instead of getting me all worked up?
