When you get for the Cheap flights in Asia many times is a head ache and When you pay top dollar  for the non budget airline tickets you get perks . 

Cheaper flights many times they take longer for the total on airplane time, the flight time usually is pretty similar sometimes it might be a little slower but you are talking a couple of minutes the place where you rally lose the time is that they have to bus you to the plane and if it is a full plane that can mean two buses loading and unloading plus the tim that it takes to drive to the terminal and my experience with BangkokAir Asia flights you are on the other side of the airport and it takes a while to get to the other side.

With the more expensive flights they all in my exprience use the jet ways which puts you right into the air terminal. Bangkok Air is a local boutique and they use the jet ways and they have a flight lounge in many of the Asia airports that they service like Phnom Penh.

Expensive plane tickets are many times at better times, ie not in the middle of the night Some flights are really late like Cebu Pacific Bangkok to Cebu via Manila or really early Bangkok to Bali on Air Asia.

If you travel with a lot of luggage the cheap flights are going to kill you with over limit fees where as the non discount flights have much larger luggage allowances.  The new thing now is for safety reason RIGHT Sure we believe you ! They are cracking down on the carry on and if you have more than a small bag and a laptop they are making you check it and guess what then you go over and you pay more and get hassled at the check in counter.
