Frequent Flyer Miles United Air Kudos

United Airlines frequent flyer program get some large Kudos from me today.  Often times I find myself not as happy as I would like to be with United Airlines and then they surprise me by doing something very right.

I took a cheap Bangkok LAX flight that was going to route me from BKK to Narita to Seattle to LAX kind of a long route to be sure but I got a really good rate and lots of miles even some extra miles for doing the extra leg SEA to LAX. 

The story begins when I get off the plane in Narita and they tell me and others that our flights had been cancelled and surprise of all suirprise they are standing at the gate wirth tickets for me to take a American Airlines flight direct from Tokyo Narita direct to Los Angeles and by passing Seatle and getting home 4 hours earlier YEA!  was very happy as I was as usual over extended and was short on time to get to Aspen Co to my part time job of driving rich people around the mountains of Colorado is a very nice Aspen limousine.

So the rub was this, I figured that I would have enough miles for a free round trip, but because they booked me on American Airlines, instead of a star alliance partner, I did not get any miles, so I called them up and said hey that is not fair, you booked me on another airline, I should not get penalized by not getting the miles. They said hold on I need to talk to a supervisor and came back on 2 minutes later and said we just loaded the miles on to your account, have a nice day!  YEA ! wow no hassle just asked, made a valid point, and they saw the logic and did the right thing, so United My hat is off to you today! Thank you for making my day!
