Phnom Penh Airport, PNH

Phnom Penh Airport

Surprise of all the things that don’t work well in Cambodia the airport is an exception. They have done a really good job of making the Pochentong airport user friendly. Starting with the plane arrival until you depart on your outbound flight, if you are on a round trip your time in the Phnom Penh airport should be trouble free.

PNH arrivals there is only one real issue and that you can avoid with a little pre planning. The visa on arrival line is always long and that seems to take the most time to process as they have a conveyor line that takes you passport past about ten people before you pay your $20 USD and get to go through Immigration. The way to bypass this is too use the Cambodian E-visa which is online and works really well I would use it all the time if I could remember to do it! I always forget right up to the time that I am standing in that Damn line again.

The other thing that I like to forget is to keep the pictures in the passport trick, if you forget they are going to charge you $2 USD no big deal unless you are real cheap charley and you realize that that $2 bucks you could have gotten 16 pictures over at the camera shop close to O’Russei Market off of Monivong, which would save you $30 on your next 15 trips to Cambodia. Here is the secrect, You need to get a small plastic zip lock bag and put a bunch of photos in there and either paperclip it or just remember to keep the little bag in the passport.
