Having a conversation with a Bali budget accommodation that I like to stay at and it is amazing to me that some people just don’t get it. This Sanur Beach home stay is very comfortable and they get lots of repeat business and they do a lot of things right but then they get some things very wrong.
They have TV’s in the room and for most people that are only here for a short period of time they are not important, but if you are out traveling for a while it is nice to get the news from back home via the TV news channels so this accommodation has been told a few times that this is something that the long term guests want but they are still reluctant to spend the $25 a month to provide this service.
Wi-Fi many of the big luxury hotels are still charging for internet access and this is a great inexpensive amenity to put in and it gives the guests so much pleasure as they can do all the stuff they do at home like check email update Facebook and check their stock portfolio’s (Mines down again Damnit!)
So after repeated complaints from the guests they call to get the system repaired many times but instead of firing the service and getting a new one they and their guests suffer with this and they just don’t get that they would be better off not offering than saying they have free broadband WiFi that don’t work because if a guest used that as a criteria for selecting their hotel, guesthouse, or budget accommodation they are going to be pissed and probably never stay there again.
